Business Continuity

The Business Continuity Team of the Information Services division is responsible for maintaining and testing recovery plans for mission-critical technologies housed in DePaul's Data Center. Mission-critical services covered here include:
  1. PeopleSoft (including Campus Connection, registration, course schedules, grading, student billing and payroll)

  2. Blackboard

  3. Systems used to communicate to the university community:

    • Student and Outlook e-mail

    • DePaul backup Web site - crisis.depaul.edu will be available from an off-site web server. This site will be available immediately after a crisis and during the week that mission critical university business systems are being recovered.
Placement of a server within the Data Center does not automatically qualify it as mission-critical. Servers that are specifically deemed mission-critical are part of the IS disaster recovery plan. If you would like to know the status of your server, please contact one of the disaster recovery specialists below. In addition, the team can provide expertise, sample contingency plans, and software to help you build and maintain a business continuity plan for your department/college.
