Planning Tips
  • Include home address, home phone, and cellular phone/pager numbers for staff members in your plans.

    • This is very important if a disaster occurs during non-business hours or if you are trying to locate a staff member after an emergency evacuation.

  • Keep contact information with you or off-site in case a disaster occurs when you are not in the office and you need to contact staff.

  • Consider developing an alternate meeting and working location for your staff if a disaster occurs affecting your office area.

  • If your area has department-specific servers (located in your office), software, databases, etc, consider creating a plan to recover these services in the event of a disaster.

    • For example, keep a copy of the software and databases off-site and document plans for replacement of any necessary equipment.

  • Document contact information for major vendors as part of your plan.
