If your fall U-Pass card is lost or stolen during the fall quarter you have to do the following:
- Bring your valid school I.D. and $35.00 (cash, credit or money order) replacement fee to the CTA Customer Service. The $35.00 fee is non-refundable.
- CTA will replace lost or stolen cards only once per academic term.
- All replacement cards are sent to the school within 5-7 business days after the request.
- CTA Customer Service Center: 567 W. Lake Street, 2nd floor. [Monday-Friday 8:00am-4:30pm]
If you cannot attend distribution, please visit ID Card Service office during their normal business hours: Monday – Thursday 9am–6:30pm and Friday 9am–5pm.
Undergraduate students enrolled in 12 or more credit hours in the fall quarter
are eligible for the fall U-Pass.
Eligibility
The CTA U-Pass is a transit pass that eligible students can use for unlimited rides anywhere on the CTA (Chicago Transit Authority) system. Currently, eligible students include:
- Full-time traditional undergraduate students (12 or more credit hours)
in all colleges
- Full-time Law (9 or more credit hours per semester)
- Full time LA&S graduate (8 or more credit hours)
- Full-time Music graduate (6 or more credit hours)
- Full-time Theatre graduate (8 or more credit hours)
- Full-time CDM graduate (8 or more credit hours)
- Full-time SNL graduate (8 or more credit hours)
- Full-time Communication graduate (8 or more credit hours)
- Commerce graduate (12 or more credit hours)
- All Full time MBA students
The U-Pass is valid on CTA-operated bus and rail lines 24 hours per day and seven days per week. The pass is NOT valid during winter break or during the summer. The U-Pass is valid over Spring Break. U-Passes will work through the date printed on the U-Pass as long as students remain eligible.
Important Facts:
- Effective January 1, 2009, Pace Bus will no longer honor the CTA U-Pass on its routes/services.
- U-Pass replaces cash for all CTA fares - no cash is needed.
- U-Pass does not require a transfer or surcharge.
- U-Pass is NOT valid for travel on Metra commuter trains.
- The cards of students who drop to part-time status will be deactivated.
- U-Pass is also valid for CTA Para-transit Special Services (for those qualified through the RTA) until the printed expiration date.
- Students can use the U-Pass on any CTA bus and rail line at any time. For CTA maps and schedules, visit the CTA Web Site.
- DePaul is a participant in the CTA U-Pass program; however, fees, rules, and regulations are established by the Chicago Transit Authority and may change periodically.
- CTA establishes eligibility.
- CTA determines how fees are applied and collected.
